LibRaw source

Heeler reads RAW files with LibRaw, used under the Common Development and Distribution License, version 1.0. LibRaw is offered under either the LGPL or the CDDL; Heeler takes the CDDL option and contains no GPL-family code.

The CDDL asks that the source for the covered code be available to anyone who receives a binary built from it. This is that source: the exact tree Heeler compiles, not a pointer at whatever upstream happens to be today.

Checking it

The archive is built reproducibly, so the same tree gives the same bytes every time and the checksum above is worth comparing against:

shasum -a 256 libraw-0.22.2-as-shipped-in-heeler.tar.gz

What is in it

The whole vendored tree, including LICENSE.CDDL and LibRaw's own COPYRIGHT. Copyright © 2008–2024 LibRaw LLC.

Older releases

Each Heeler release points at the LibRaw tree it was actually built from, and those archives stay here rather than being replaced. If you are running an older build, its licence page names the version it needs.
